Octopussy is an exceptional Bond movie and it produced Roger Moore's last great performance as Bond. Moore is in top form, snapping witticisms one minute and being dead serious the next.
Kamal Kahn is one of the best villains in the series. He is calm, collected, and annoyed with Bond's inability to die. Kahn shares a common trait among the series nemesis he cheats at simple games, in this case Backgammon, Kahn is aided by his fiercely loyal henchman Gobinda. Gobinda, a cross between Red Grant and OddJob, is instinctive and intelligent, he doubtlessly possess physical strength, and is willing to die at Kamal's whims. At one point even climbing out of a plane in flight to follow the orders of his "exellence". General Orlov is a Soviet general who wishes to begin a world war. Orlov views his crimes as justified due to the patriotic aims of his activities. Though cold hearted, he is more of an anoyance.
Octopussy is the love interest, she is colder and less emotional than many of the other Bond girls. However she is also more resourceful, Octopussy's cult also adopts her personality, as well as beliefs. Magda in particular is a mirror image of her leader.
The scenes in India are spectacular, and the score is also outstanding. Octopussy includes some of the most impressive cinematography from the Bond movies. Q has a slightly larger role which is good and provides a few chuckles. All in all, Octopussy is a great Bond movie and certainly among the top ten.
